- A:Distributor Ignition Control Module (1993 and 1994 3.0L V6 engine only) involves disconnecting the negative cable from the battery. Then, remove the two screws securing the Ignition Control Module to the radiator support. Next, disconnect the electrical connector. After that, remove two screws securing the Ignition Control Module to the heatsink. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure. Before attaching the Ignition Control Module to the heatsink, evenly coat the baseplate of the module with Silicone Dielectric Compound WA-10 or equivalent. For EDIS Ignition Control Module (1993 and 1994 2.3L four-cylinder and 4.0L V6 engines), disconnect the negative cable from the battery. Then, disconnect the electrical connector from the EDIS Ignition Control Module. Next, remove the screws securing the EDIS module to the fenderwell.
