Install the wheel and lower the vehicle to the ground. Support the engine with a floor jack and block of wood. Remove the pulley from the power steering pump. Disconnect the fluid return hose from the pump, allowing the fluid to drain into a suitable container. Unplug the electrical connector from the power steering fluid pressure switch and remove the bolt securing the pressure line bracket. Disconnect the power steering pressure hose from the pump, allowing the fluid to drain into a suitable container. Use two wrenches; a backup wrench to hold the fitting on the pump tube, the other to loosen the fitting. Under the power steering reservoir, remove the refrigerant line bracket-to-body nut. Remove the upper engine mount. Unscrew the power steering mounting bolts, then remove the bracket and the pump. Installation is the reverse of removal, noting the following points: Tighten the bolts and unions securely. The O-ring on the high-pressure outlet should be replaced. Use a special tool or a tapered tube to slide the new O-ring onto the pipe union. On 3.0L V6 models, when installing the engine mounts. Install the drive belt.
