The Ford F-350 Super Duty is a truck series manufactured by the brand starting in 1999 and has developed for four generations. Initially, three cab configurations were offered, including the two-door standard, 2+2-door SuperCab, and the four-door crew. For this model, a dual-rear-wheel axle was optional and the engine featured a 5.4-liter Triton V8 that could produce 235 horsepower or a 6.8-liter Triton V10 producing 275 horsepower. The chassis performed a new type of coating for improved corrosion resistance and the rear suspension has also been tweaked for ride and handling improvement at the same rate. The PowerStroke diesel engine was improved from 6.0L to 6.4L and could produce an impressive 350 hp of power and 650 pound-feet of torque. Other changes included higher-grade cabin materials, a standard MP3 audio jack, available power telescoping or folding side mirrors, and a unique, drop-down tailgate step. The third generation was developed in 2011, including new gas and diesel engines with a six-speed automatic transmission, steering and suspension revisions, tweaked exterior styling, some new interior switchgear, and some additional features. The towing capacity was improved to 21,600 pounds and the engines could produce 385 horsepower, 405 pound-feet of torque, 300 hp, and 365 lb-ft. The fourth generation was released in 2017, and engines included the choice of a 6.2-liter gasoline V8 or a turbocharged 6.7-liter diesel V8, and the performance has been improved. The Ford F-350 Super Duty also has antilock brakes, stability and traction control, trailer sway control, and hill start assist were offered, as well as the standard front-seat side airbags and side curtain airbags for security.

Despite its robust nature, the Ford F-350 Super Duty isn't immune to wear and tear, particularly when used intensively for hauling heavy goods. One prevalent issue reported by drivers is engine failure, characterized by noise emanations, oil leaks, rough running, misfiring, and occasionally a burnt smell. Key components to inspect when encountering these issues include the valve cover gasket and exhaust manifold gasket. Another common problem is clunking or rattling noise while driving, sometimes coupled with abrupt starts and stops or delayed responses when backing up. Other symptoms include the vehicle tilting to one side, uneven tire wear, and loose steering wheel, potentially caused by faulty coil springs, a clogged automatic transmission filter, or a damaged sway bar bracket. Regular preventive maintenance can help mitigate these issues and also extend the lifespan of frequently used components like the door handle, windshield wiper, and fog light, which are susceptible to wear over time.
