Q: How to remove and install an ignition coil pack on Ford Focus?
A: The cylinder head's left end is where the ignition coil pack is bolted. In some engines, the tower points to the fenders on the left, while others have pointed towers. Some engines feature a cover that must be removed to access their coils. Unplug the wiring connector from your coil before removing it from the spark plug socket. Mark these terminals down if the coil connections do not match their cylinder numbers. Gently pull off those wires which connect back onto each of these metal caps. Take out an engine compartment ignition coil. Using an ohmmeter, test for resistance between primary and secondary windings on ignition coils, when necessary replace them with new ones. Reverse process used during installation.
