How to remove the front seat belt on Ford Focus?

To remove the front seat belt, first disconnect the negative battery cable and keep it away from the battery. For 4-door and 5-door models, remove the bolt for the lower seat belt anchor, unclip the upper trim panel from the 8-pillar, and pass the seat belt lower anchor through the trim panel. Unscrew the Torx bolt securing the seat belt guide to the 8-pillar, then remove the two securing screws and unclip the lower trim panel from the 8-pillar. Slide the guide loop forwards and down to detach it from the pillar, unscrew the mounting bolt, and lift the seat belt reel unit from the base of the pillar. For 3-door models, undo the anchor rail bolt and slide the belt off, pry out the retaining clip, unclip the upper trim panel from the 8-pillar, and pass the seat belt lower anchor through the trim panel. Unscrew the Torx bolt securing the seat belt guide to the B-pillar, remove the rear seat cushion and backrest, and unclip the rear side trim panel for access to the seat belt reel unit. Unscrew the mounting bolt and lift the seat belt reel unit from the base of the pillar. For the rear side seat belt in wagons, fold the rear seat cushions forward and unscrew the seat belt lower anchor bolt, then fold the rear seat backrest forward, undo the four securing screws from the luggage side cover trim, and unclip the cover trim from the seat belt reel unit. Unscrew the mounting bolt securing the seat belt reel unit and withdraw it from the vehicle. In 3-door and 5-door models, repeat the process of folding the rear seat cushions forward, unscrewing the seat belt lower anchor bolt, undoing the retaining screw from the seat belt reel cover trim, unclipping the cover trim, and unscrewing the mounting bolt to withdraw the seat belt reel unit. For sedans, follow a similar process, ensuring to unclip the small cover trim from the seat belt and the C-pillar intermediate trim panel. The rear center seat belt reel is attached to the rear seat backrest, requiring the seat fabric to be removed, which is best handled by a dealer or specialist. For sedans, fold the rear seat backrests forward, unclip the cover trims from the seat catches, and slide the parcel shelf trim forwards to remove. Unscrew the mounting bolt securing the seat belt reel unit to the parcel shelf and withdraw it from the vehicle. The front seat belt stalks are bolted to the seat frame and can be removed after taking out the front seat, while the rear seat belt stalks can be removed by folding the rear seat cushions forward and unscrewing the anchor bolts. Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring to tighten the mounting nuts and bolts to the specified torque, correctly position the seat belt reel locating dowel, install spacers in their correct position, and ensure the anchor rail is located correctly in 3-door models.
