A: To change the brake pads, commence by eliminating the brake fluid reservoir cap and decreasing the level of the fluid. Jack up the car, remove wheels, and repeat for each brake assembly at a time. Clean out the Brake Disc and its components using a brake system cleaner. Remove the brake caliper spring on 2015 models and above. Press down on a piston into the caliper bore and replace both inner and outer brake pads if necessary. Grease the pad support plates and caliper mounting bolts. Put in place pads, secure the caliper, and tighten bolts. Additional caution for rear brake pads in 2011 and later models with Electric Parking Brakes applies here. Make sure all components are properly installed and torqued.
