How do you properly handle the latch and cable installation and removal process on Lincoln Navigator?

To reinstall the latch assembly, first scribe a line around the latch for alignment. For Navigator models, remove the hood latch handle and cable assembly from the latch. For all models, remove the latch retaining bolts securing it to the radiator support, using the scribed line as a guide. To adjust the hood latch, loosen the retaining bolts, reposition the latch, retighten the bolts, and check the fit by closing the hood. On Pick-up and Expedition models, disconnect the hood release cable by disengaging it from the back of the latch assembly. The installation process is the reverse of removal, ensuring the latch is adjusted so the hood engages securely when closed, with the hood bumpers slightly compressed. To disconnect the hood release cable, detach it from the latch assembly, then attach a piece of stiff wire to the end of the cable and follow it back to the firewall, detaching all retaining clips.
