How to remove and install a headlight switch in a Mercury Cougar?

To disconnect the negative cable from the battery the process must be repeated. To remove the headlight switch knob, insert a tool into the release hole and pull it out. Pry out the dimmer switch, unplug the connector, and remove it. Remove the instrument panel bezel by taking out the screws. Lower the switch, unplug connector, and take it out of the car. Installation is the reverse of removal.
