Restriction of the flow of liquid refrigerant into the evaporator core is done by the fixed orifice tube assembly. The evaporator temperature is controlled by a pressure-operated electric switch. In cases where high pressure is extremely high and the low pressure is nearly a vacuum, then the fixed orifice tube is blocked and it needs to be replaced. To take it out, disconnect the liquid line connection, lubricate the O-rings, use a special tool to extract the tube, and cap an open line.
