Q: How do you replace a sealed beam or bulb-type headlight on Mercury Grand Marquis?
A: In order to replace a sealed beam headlight, one has to first unscrew the cable from the negative terminal of the battery, before removing the screws from the headlight bezel. Sir next take of four screws of head light retainer but keep adjusting screws untouched then remove the retainer and pull the head light for removing the connector then take out the headlight completely. During installation the connector is connected, the position of the headlight is adjusted and placed in position then the retainer and screws tightened. Lastly, replace with the back bezel and tighten the screws that are used to hold it in position. For, a bulb-type headlight unscrew the headlamp and turn off the car and detach the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. If there is a cover, take it off and from behind headlight assembly get a grip of the bulb holder then rotate it clockwise to unlock it. If so, undo the electrical connector and unscrew the circular hook anticlockwise and pull the bulb holder out. sharing the clip to unsolder the bulb holder from the connector without touching the surface of a new bulb: if it is touched, wipe it with the rubbing alcohol. Place the new bulb into the connector until it comes to click, then place the bulb holder back into the head-lights.
