It is only possible to remove the accumulator using a spring lock coupling tool. First of all, have the air conditioning system released at a dealer service department or an automotive air conditioning store before going further. Next, uninstall the battery and the battery tray, PCM and the PCM mounting bracket have to be also taken out. If the condenser line is connected to the accumulator and the evaporator line to the line coupling at the firewall, remove the latter: to do this, insert the special tool into both male and female fittings and push it as far as the coupling heads will be visible through the window in the tool; then, pull the lines apart. Take off and throw away the 0-rings and stop all the lines and fitting you opened to avoid contamination of the air conditioning system. After that, unbolt the leads to the accumulator and pull the splitter out of the high pressure line, take out the accumulator. Replace all fittings with new 0-rings and drowned them with the proper refrigerant oil.
