To power the V6 engines the initial steps are to take out the cable from the negative terminal of the battery and then to take off the alternator drivebelt. After that, unplug the wire connector from the alternator, slide off the rubber weather boot from the nut for the B+ terminal, unbolt the mentioned nut and, finally, remove the battery cable from the B+ terminal. Following that, unbolt the nut at the top of the alternator mounting stud, and after, the alternate mounting bolt(s) should be unbolted, then you can simply take out the alternator while the process of putting the part back is done in a similar manner to removal. For the 4.6L V8 Engine the following steps should be followed Power off the vehicle, unplug the cable of the negative terminal of the battery and unbolt and take off the air intake duct. Remember, first of all, to pull off the four oblts of the alternator mounting bracket and the drivebelt as well. Remove the two lower alternator nuts or bolts, tip the alternator up ward to expose the electrical clip connectors, pull the rubber cover back to reveal the B + terminal and remove the nut, this is followed by removal of the battery cable and the electrical connector from the alternator. Demounting thereof is done in reverse order with attention to tightening mounting nuts and bolts, support bracket bolts included. For the 5.0 L V8 engine, start with the removal of cable from the negative terminal of the battery, then follow it with the elimination of the air inlet and outlet tubes together with the air filter housing. Secondly, it is required to unbolt the drivebelt and tensioner, then unscrew and pulled off the rubber weather boot over the alternator's B+ terminal nut, after that, unscrew the B+ terminal nut and disconnect the battery cable from the B+ terminal. Unplug the electrical connector from the alternator, unbolt the nut at the alternator, take out the bolt of the alternator bracket, and pull out the alternator, while the procedure for the reversed is as follows.
