    Q:
How to remove and install front Stabilizer bar and bushings on Lincoln MKX? Posted by Customer
    A:
In order to remove the sway bar kit and do other related tasks, first make sure that the steering wheel is securely positioned at center using a steering wheel holding tool or passing the seat belt through the steering wheel and clipping it in place. Loosen front wheel lug nuts, lift up front part of vehicle, and support with jack stands; apply parking brake and block rear wheels for safety measures. At this moment take off your front wheels, mark where your steering shaft meets the steering gear and by taking away clamp bolt disconnect your steering shaft from your steerage gear. Afterwards remove right-hand side fender splash guards as well as sub frame lower bumper covers after removing those nuts. In case of 2014s models or older ones, detach power steering hose bracket and also remove forward section of exhaust system. If you are working on an all-wheel drive model, make an index mark on driveshaft, disconnect it from transfer case then reposition it. Disconnect sway bar links, tie rod ends and ball joints from their respective components securing harnesses and electrical connectors when necessary. Remove engine roll restrictor heat shield and bolt with making a mark down position of front sub-frame under body at the mounting locations namely; supporting front sub-frame with floor jacks unbolting bolts/nuts from sub-frame support brackets alright lifting sub-frame with jacks about 3 inches lower than that. Lose clamps for sway bar bushing's guide into freedom while sliding out sway bar kit. When removed from vehicle slide off retainer bushings checking them for cracks or wear replacing if necessary. Wipe off rust or dirt in area where sway bar bushing fits with wire brush for cleaning purposes before installation process starts; in relation to installation tighten fasteners according to specified torque values thus ensuring installation of bushings without lubricants especially noting correct positioning of them for 2015 & later models. Finally align sub-frame with marks made on installation place: tighten sub-frame nuts and then secure remaining support bracket fasteners.

    Q:
How to remove and install rear Stabilizer bar and bushings on Lincoln MKX? Posted by Customer
    A:
Find a hoist or place the car on ramps and safely block it to prevent any accidents or raise the rear of the vehicle as well as secure it with jack stands. The vehicle will not roll off the stands if you block its front wheels. Take off nuts from lower and upper ends of left and right sway bar links, hence removing them. Unscrew nuts that hold sway bar bushing brackets and take away brackets together with sway bar kit. Once you have removed the sway bar kit, check for cracks, wear or deterioration of bushings; replace if necessary. Remove rusts and dirt from around the bushing area of the sway bar kit by brushing it using wire brush. To make it easy when putting back new bushings on new Kit use vegetable oil (used in cooking) to lubricate their exterior/interior surfaces. No petroleum based lubricants, mineral oils, or brake fluids should be used because they will damage the bushings. Installation is basically doing what was done during removal but this time tightening fasteners to torque values.
