    Q:
How to replace rear bearing on Lincoln Navigator? Posted by Customer
    A:
Remove the axleshaft and the oil seal. A bearing puller which grips the bearing from behind will be required for this job. These tools, adapted to screw onto slide hammers, are available from tool stores and many auto parts stores. Attach a slide hammer to the puller and extract the bearing from the axle housing. Clean out the bearing recess and drive in the new bearing with a bearing installer or a piece of pipe positioned against the outer bearing race. Make sure the bearing is tapped in to the full depth of the recess and the numbers on the bearing are visible from the outer end of the axle housing. Install a new oil seal, then install the axleshaft.

    Q:
How do you inspect and repack front wheel bearings on Ford Expedition? Posted by Customer
    A:
To inspect and repack front wheel bearings, start by securely supporting the vehicle on jackstands. Spin each wheel to check for noise, resistance, and freeplay. If there's movement, inspect the bearings. Remove the wheel, caliper, and dust cap. Remove the cotter pin, nut lock, nut, and washer. Pull the hub/disc assembly to remove the outer bearing, then remove the assembly. Pry the seal out and remove the inner bearing. Clean and inspect all parts for wear or damage. Pack the bearings with high-temperature grease. Apply grease to the spindle and hub. Place the bearings, seal, and washer in position. Install the spindle nut, tighten while spinning the hub, then loosen and hand-tighten. Install the nut lock and cotter pin. Install the dust cap, caliper, wheel, and lug nuts. Lower the vehicle and tighten the lug nuts.
