Insert a large screwdriver or pry bar into the space between the transmission extension housing and the frame crossmember and pry up. The transmission should not move significantly away from the mount; if the mount does, it should be replaced. Place a jack under the transmission with a wood block on top to protect the transmission case, applying a slight amount of jack pressure to support the weight. Remove the two nuts securing the mount to the frame crossmember and the two bolts securing the mount to the transmission extension housing. Raise the transmission with the jack until the studs on the bottom of the transmission mount clear the crossmember, then remove the mount and install a new one. Installation follows the reverse order of removal.
