To remove the bumper, the plastic bumper cover, or fascia, must be removed first. The number of bumper cover fasteners varies from year to year, but generally there are four or more front bumper cover fasteners accessible from under the vehicle (below the radiator area), several fasteners in the fenderwell securing the cover to the fender, and one fastener on each side accessible when the cornering lamps are removed. Rear bumper covers have fasteners along the bottom edge accessible from below, screws in the fenderwell, and nuts inside the trunk that are accessible when the rearmost trunk interior trim panels are removed. Disconnect any wiring or other components that would interfere with bumper removal. On later models, the true bumper is a steel beam behind the bumper cover, usually attached to the frame with bolts at the left and right ends. Support the bumper with a floor jack. Alternatively remove the retaining bolts/nuts and detach the bumper (Bumper retaining nuts). Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten the retaining bolts securely. Install the bumper cover and any other components that were removed.

Rear bumper covers are attached via fasteners at the base of the structure seen from below, screws within fenderwell, and nuts within the trunk that are visible once the most rear trunk interior trim is removed. Subsequently, you should remove any wire connection or some part that will hinder the removal of the bumper and then place a jack or jack stand beneath to support the bumper. Next, you undo the two bolts or nuts that hold the bumper in place to be able to take it off. Installation will go in a reverse order and do not forget to tighten the retaining bolts and the bumper cover and all other parts that were removed.
