Before removing the steering column, pull the negative terminal of the battery out. After that, disconnect the steering and the airbag sliding contact. Four bolts hold the trim that is located beneath the steering column; remove those bolts and pull out the retaining clip to disconnect the trim. Also, remove the multi-plug of the trim panel. If it is applicable then remove the connection of the hood release cable and the electrical connector from the diagnostic plug. Pull out the three socket head screws on the upper attachment points of the steering column, and take out the Torx screw of the lower point; to release the column from the sleeve, pull it up and remove it from the car.
