    Q:
How do I remove the radiator fan and motor for replacement for the 2003 Ford Escape? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the radiator fan and motor, follow these steps:1. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.2. Disconnect the fan motor electrical connector(s).3. Raise the vehicle and secure it on jackstands.4. Drain the cooling system, saving the coolant if it's relatively new and still in good condition.5. Remove the hood latch and the upper radiator hose.6. Loosen the hose clamp and remove the upper radiator hose. If the hose is stuck, use adjustable pliers to twist and break the seal before pulling it off. Consider installing a new hose if it's old or deteriorated.7. Remove the center support bolts and lift the center support from the engine compartment.8. Remove the left and right upper radiator support brackets to tilt the radiator forward for additional clearance.9. Detach the wire harness from the fan shroud, and remove the upper and lower fan shroud mounting bolts.10. Carefully lift the fan motor and shroud out of the engine compartment as a single assembly.
