    Q:
How do you replace the heater core on Ford Explorer Sport Trac? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the heater core on 1994 and earlier models, remove the cable from the negative battery post and drain the cooling system. The clamps on the heater hoses should be loosened at the engine compartment side of the firewall so that they can be separated from the heater core tubes which are then capped. In the passenger compartment, unscrew, and pull out of plenum assembly, taking care not to damage them. For removing it, pull down and towards rear for taking out a heater core while finally installing it is just a reversal process making sure to replenish coolant and check for leaks.

    Q:
How does the heater in a 2000-2011 Ford Ranger work? Posted by Customer
    A:
The heater, which is the engine coolant circulation, is used to warm the passenger compartment. The air flows through an opening in the cowl and then a blower motor forces it through the heater core where heat is absorbed. This air is mixed with varying amounts of unheated air. Thus, heating air enters compartment for passengers which is also blown into them. Finally, there are some doors in the heating system that affects floor airflow and what comes out of the defroster outlets and instrument panel louvers.

    Q:
How to replace a heater core in a 2000-2011 Ford Ranger? Posted by Customer
    A:
First of all, let the cooling system cool down. Open the radiator filler cap to release pressure and drain the system. Loosen clamps on heater hoses and disconnect them from the firewall. Plug or cap the heater core tubes. Place a plastic sheet on the floor. Remove all necessary components and the heater core itself. Installation is done in reverse of the removal procedure. Once again, fill the cooling system, check for leaks, and test the heater.

    Q:
How does the heater in a 1993-2011 Ford Ranger work? Posted by Customer
    A:
Located in the passenger compartment is a small radiator called the heater core and the engine heater circulates coolants. At first, air enters via an opening in the cowl and then it's blown through a blower motor and over should be going through heater core in order to take up some heat. The air warmed is mixed with different amounts of unwarmed air that makes it to control the temperature. Finally, warm air is forced into the passenger compartment. Airflow between floor vents, instrument panel louvers, and defroster openings is controlled by various doors in the heater.
