To remove and install the components, first loosen the wheel lug nuts, then jack up the front of the vehicle and support it on jackstands. Next, remove the wheel and tire, followed by the brake caliper assembly without disconnecting the brake hose. Suspend the caliper assembly with a piece of wire, ensuring it does not hang by the brake hose. For models with manual and automatic locking hubs, follow the wheel bearing removal procedure. New disc assemblies come with an anti-rust coating that should be removed using denatured alcohol or degreaser, and new hubs must be packed with EP wheel bearing grease. The installation process is the reverse of removal. For inspection, check the disc for cracks, grooves, or waviness; discs that are not excessively scored can typically be resurfaced by automotive shops. Measure the disc thickness with a caliper gauge, ensuring it meets the minimum thickness of 0.81 in. (20.5mm); if refinishing exceeds this thickness, replacement of the disc is necessary.

Remove the brake caliper as outlined in Section 4. It isn't necessary to disconnect the brake hose for this procedure. After removing the caliper, suspend it out of the way with a piece of wire. Don't let the caliper hang by the hose and don't stretch or twist the hose.

After the installation process, the vehicle should be lowered, the brake pedal should be depressed to bring the pads into contact with the rotor, and brake operation should be checked before normal use.
