    Q:
How to remove and refit a door lock cylinder on Ford Pinto? Posted by Customer
    A:
Remove the door trim panel and waterproof sheet, then disconnect the control rod from the arm on the lock cylinder. Next, pry out the spring retaining clip that holds the cylinder lock in position and remove the cylinder from the door. When refitting, follow the reverse order of removal, but to avoid duplication of keys, renew the ignition lock and opposite door lock simultaneously.

    Q:
How do you remove and fit a lock cylinder on Ford Pinto? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disconnect the battery ground terminal, then remove the horn pad and steering wheel. Insert a wire pin in the hole located inside the column halfway down the lock cylinder housing. Move the selector lever to the 'PARK' position for automatic transmission or the reverse position for manual gearbox, and turn the lock cylinder with the ignition key inserted to the 'RUN' position. To remove the lock cylinder, press the wire pin while pulling up on the lock cylinder. For fitting the lock cylinder, insert it into its housing with the locking pin fully depressed and turn the key to the 'OFF' position, which will extend the cylinder retaining pin into the housing. Turn the key to ensure correct operation in all positions, then refit the steering wheel and horn pad before reconnecting the battery.
