In order to have the power steering pump pulled out, first of all, the cable connected to the negative terminal of the battery has to be unscrewed and then the drivebelt around the pulley of the power steering has to be detached. Then, unscrew the return hose from the pump and allow the contents to drain into a container, then, undo the pressure hose from the pump and if it is fitted with a seal, remove the same. For the drivebelt pulley removal, simply fit a pump pulley removal tool on the pulley, grip the pulley and turn the tool nut anti-clockwise to loosen until you don't apply much force on the shaft of the pulley to prevent straining internal components. Subsequently, one needs to unscrew the bolts that snap the pump in place with the mounting bracket and then extract the pump and the pulley through the bracket. For installation, place the pump in the bracket and install the mounting bolts, tighten to the torque indicated. Install the pulley unto the motor shaft by pressing the hub of the pulley unto the end of the shaft and within 0.010 inch from the shaft end, use the special pulley installation tool to do this. The pump drivebelt should then be installed and tighten; the pressure and return hoses must then be connected to the relevant fittings of the pump, and if the pressure hose has replaceable seats, these must be put in place. Last, include the pump reservoir and fill the system as required with the specified fluid and then, bleed the system.
