    Q:
How do you remove the radiator on Ford Explorer? Posted by Customer
    A:
If you want to remove the radiator, then you should disconnect the negative battery cable and remove the air cleaner duct. Drain the cooling system and pull off the radiator hoses from their connections. Disconnect the reservoir hose from the radiator filler neck. Remove the fan shroud and disconnect transmission cooler lines if equipped. Remove the bolts that hold up the radiator and take out any clips retaining the condenser. Gently lift away from its lower mounts without spilling coolant or causing damage to anything else on your car; this will allow you access it more easily should something break while doing so (like bending metal). Inspect for leaks and damages when taking out a radiator. To begin, check that all parts are included and arrange them as they were before removal. Also, refill with water, test for leaks, and keep watch over upper radiator hose for temperature indication too. For vehicles with automatic transmissions, monitor levels in addition to adding fluid if necessary.

    Q:
How do you remove and install a radiator on 2000-2011 Ford Ranger? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the radiator, disconnect the negative battery cable and drain the coolant if clean. Loosen hose clamps, detach radiator hoses without distorting fittings. Replace old hoses. Disconnect reservoir hose. Remove screws attaching fan shroud to radiator and slide it towards the engine. Disconnect transmission cooler lines if applicable. Plug lines and fittings. Remove radiator mounting bolts and lift it out carefully. Inspect for leaks and damage. Clean radiator with compressed air and brush. Check mounts for deterioration and debris. For installation, reverse removal procedure, fill cooling system with antifreeze-water mixture, check for leaks, and let engine reach normal temperature. Recheck coolant levels and add more if needed. Also check and add transmission fluid if applicable.

    Q:
How do you remove and install a radiator on 1993-2011 Ford Ranger? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the radiator, remove the negative battery cable and drain the coolant. Similarly, be careful when removing or loosening radiator hoses from their fittings to prevent distortion. If necessary, cut off old or worn-out hoses and put new ones in their place. Remove screws holding fan shroud and slide it towards the engine. In the case of vehicles with automatic transmission, disconnect transmission cooler lines by using the backup wrench to hold the fittings and then plug them to avoid leaks. Detach all radiator mounting sockets before carefully lifting it from its lower mounting pads. Blow through with compressed air, brush gently with a soft brush or check for leaks, and damage or clean up if necessary, bleed if needed. Check your radiator mounts for wear and tear. Fill the cooling system, start the engine, bleed if necessary, and check for leaks at the operating temperature.
