Drain the cooling system. Remove the coolant expansion tank. Disconnect upper radiator hose from radiator by loosening hose clamp, sliding it back down hose and pulling off hose. Remove cooling fan and clutch assembly. Raise vehicle and place securely on jackstands. On vehicles with automatic transmission, disconnect transmission cooler lines from lower rear side of radiator. Diesel models with automatic have separate transmission oil cooler located outside radiator. Disconnect lower hose(s) from radiator. Remove plastic pin-type retainers and radiator cover. On 6.0L diesel engines, remove three plastic retainers from cable at top front of radiator. Pull cable aside so radiator can be moved forward in vehicle. Remove upper radiator support bolts and supports. Remove upper insulators from radiator support brackets and inspect for damage. If damaged, replace. Disconnect vent hose from radiator. Remove radiator. Remove lower insulators from lower crossmember and inspect for damage. If damaged, replace. Installation is reverse of removal. When installing radiator, ensure positioning pins on bottom seat correctly in lower insulators. After installation, fill system with proper antifreeze mixture and check transmission fluid level. Start engine and check for leaks.
