    Remove the fuel filler cap and have an assistant turn the ignition switch to ON while you listen for the sound of the fuel pump. You should hear a brief whirring noise for about one second as the pump pressurizes the system. If there is no sound, check the fuel pump relay fuse, the fuel pump relay, and the Inertia Fuel Shutoff (IFS) switch (see Step 5).

Disconnect the EVAP line's quick-connect coupling from the pump mounting flange, then carefully lift the fuel pump/fuel level sensor assembly out of the fuel tank.
