For the sensor-depending on the model- is situated in the valve body of the transaxle and is best handled by a local dealer or good mechanic if it is from the models manufactured before 2007. In 2008 and later models, there are two speed sensors: Turbine Shaft Speed (TSS) is installed at the bottom of the transaxle while the Output Shaft Speed (OSS) is located in the valve body of the transmission system and cannot be repaired by an ordinary person. And if this sensor has to be replaced the procedere is: Jack up the vehicle and safely support it on jackstands, then remove the engine under cover, drain the transaxle fluid, and remove the main control cover which is situated at the front of the transaxle. Subsequently, unplug electrical connector of the sensor and undo the bolt of the sensor Fastening and finally pull out sensor from the transaxle case. Using clean transmission fluid, lubricate the O-ring of the new sensor and then connect a length of wire to the electrical connection of the sensor, pass the wire through the transaxle case and plug the electrical connector in the terminal available on the valve body. Insert the sensor into the case, screw the bolt in place and them tighten the same to the required torque value. Refit the primary shift cover, using the correct torque to the control cover bolts, and then lower the car and replenish the transaxle with the correct type and volume of tranny fluid.
