While replacing spark plugs, put silicone dielectric compound inside all spark plug wire boots and terminals. Use a gap gauge together with a ratchet, extensions, and a spark plug socket. Check and adjust the gap on the new plugs. If necessary, detach the electrical connector and then remove the spark plug wire. Clean out any debris from the spark plug hole using compressed air. Older models can be compared to a chart when removing old plugs with a spark plug socket. Apply anti-seize compound to threads of the new plug before threading it into the hole. Examine it first before connecting a new spark plug wire. Change other plugs one by one in a similar way as explained above.

It's crucial to install the spark plug wires in the correct order, starting with the number one cylinder, which can be identified and labeled for clarity.

Remove the spark plug wire by pulling only on the boot at the end of the wire, not the wire itself. Use a plug wire removal tool if available.
