To replace or access components, lift the front end, set on jack stands under the frame and under the axle as a check. For installation, place approximately four flat washers over the stud and then pass the lug nut through the flange while tightening so as to ensure that the stud is appropriately engaged before the removal of the lug nut and the washers. If the brakes have been removed install the brake shoes, then the brake drum, then the wheel, take out the jack-stands and slowly lower the vehicle and make sure that the lug nuts are tightened to the right torque. During inspection, consider replacing wheels, which are bent, cracked, or leaking air or heavily rusted, and wheels which have been bent only to be straightened or inner tubes in wheel which leak because they may have received structural damages and can therefore burst at some-point. When there is need to take the caliper off, it is recommendable to support it in a proper manner so that there will be no calling on the caliper hose assembly. Loosen the nut on the lower shock stud of the shock absorber, remove the nut by which the lower retainer is attached to the spring seat and the axle can be lowered without extending the brake hose. If required, the pry bar should be used to lift the times spring over the bolt and rotate it to disengage built-in retainer before the removal. For reinstallation, if the bolt is missing replace it in the axle arm and tighten the nut, follow by installation of spring lower seat and lower insulator. When the axle is placed in the lowest position, fit the top of the spring into the upper seat and turn the spring to its right position and then fit the lower end over the bolt. Lift the axle gradually until the spring is properly positioned; thereafter tighten the bottom sheet and nut of the retainer, connect the shock absorber and after that, lower the automobile by removing the jack and stands.

First, loosen the front wheel lug nuts, raise the front of the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands. Then, remove the wheels.

Position the spring lower retainer over the stud and lower seat and torque the attaching nut to 70-100 ft. lbs.
