    What additional steps are involved in removing the starter motor in the 2009 Ford Edge? Posted by Customer

    In V6 models, additional steps are involved in removing the starter motor. 1. Remove the air filter housing and the left-hand air filter housing outlet pipe for 2.7L engines. 2. On 3.5L and 3.7L engines, disconnect the transaxle shift cable. 3. Remove the transaxle shift lever nut and lever. 4. Remove the starter motor solenoid wire nut and starter motor battery cable nut. 5. Remove both wires from the starter motor. 6. Remove the starter motor mounting fasteners. 7. Take out the starter motor.
