Inspect one wire at a time, starting with the number one cylinder. Label each wire for proper reinstallation. Disconnect and carefully remove each wire from the spark plug, ensuring a snug fit when pushing it back onto the spark plug's end.

During inspection: Check inside the boot for corrosion (white, crusty powder). Ensure a tight fit on the spark plug end; if not, crimp the metal connector inside the wire boot with pliers until snug. Ensure a tight fit in the ignition coil terminal; if not, crimp the metal connector inside the wire boot with pliers until snug. Clean each wire along its entire length to remove dirt and grease. Inspect for burned areas, cracks, and other forms of damage. Bend the wires in several places to check the flexibility of the conductive material.
