    A:
To get the wheel off the ground, loosen the lug nuts, lift the car, and put it on jack stands. Remove the drive axle/hub nut, washer, and hub seal. Throw away old seals but keep nuts and washers. Take out the ABS wheel speed sensor and wiring harness bracket bolt. Disconnect the brake hose bracket from the strut. Take off the brake caliper, caliper mounting bracket, and brake disc. Wire caliper to coil spring. Separate control arm and tie-rod end from the steering knuckle. Disconnect the drive axle from hubs using a drive hub remover tool. Disconnect the lower end of the strut from the steering knuckle, and remove the knuckle. While installing guide the knuckle and hub assembly into position; Insert the drive axle into the hub. Install and tighten lower strut bolts and nuts on both sides of the vehicle. Connect the ball joint along with the tie-rod end with the steering knuckle. Q:
What should be done to complete the assembly of the driveaxle and hub for the 2009 Ford Edge? Posted by Customer
    A:
Install the wheel speed sensor and harness bracket. Install the brake disc and caliper/mounting bracket assembly. Seat the driveaxle using the old driveaxle/hub nut and washer, then tighten the nut to the torque. Remove and discard the old nut and washer, replacing them with new parts and retighten to the specified torque. The driveaxle/hub nut must be tightened before lowering the vehicle or damage to the wheel bearings may occur. The driveaxle/hub nut is coated with a one-use locking chemical and cannot be reused for final assembly. The locking chemical is activated by heat created during tightening. The nut must be tightened to the specified torque within five minutes of starting it on the threads or the locking chemical will not activate properly.
