    Q:
How to remove and install Lincoln MKX of power steering pumps? Posted by Customer
    A:
For V6 models Removal, Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jack stands. Using a large syringe or suction gun, suck as much fluid out of the power steering fluid reservoir as possible. Place a drain pan under the vehicle to catch any fluid that spills out when the hoses are disconnected. Remove the drivebelt. On all-wheel drive models, first remove the four bolts from the driveshaft coupler and position the driveshaft to the side. Use a floor jack to support the rear of the front sub-frame. Remove the nuts and bolts from the sub-frame brackets and remove the brackets. Remove the two middle sub-frame nuts and slowly lower the jack to lower the rear of the sub-frame. Remove the clamp from the power steering pump supply hose and disconnect the hose. Disconnect the electrical connector at the power steering pump. Remove the banjo bolt and disconnect the pressure line. Unscrew and remove the mounting bolts, and withdraw the power steering pump from the engine. Installation: Installation is the reverse of removal, noting the following points: The banjo bolt and sealing washers on the high-pressure line should be replaced. Tighten the mounting bolts and banjo bolt to the torque. Fill the power steering reservoir with the recommended fluid. Bleed the power steering hydraulic system. Four-cylinder models Removal: Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Using a large syringe or suction gun, suck as much fluid out of the power steering fluid reservoir as possible. Place a drain pan under the vehicle to catch any fluid that spills out when the hoses are disconnected. Remove the drivebelt. Detach the pressure and supply hoses from the pump.
