    Q:
How to replace the rear seal on Lincoln Navigator? Posted by Customer
    A:
On Expedition/Navigator models, the axle shaft or drive axles should be removed. Pry the oil seal out of the end of the axle housing with a large screwdriver or the inner end of the axle shaft. Apply multi-purpose grease to the oil seal recess and tap the new seal evenly into place with a hammer and seal installation tool, large socket, or piece of pipe so the lips are lacing in and the metal lace is visible from the end of the axle housing. When correctly installed, the face of the oil seal should be flush with the end of the axle housing.
