To replace the upstream oxygen sensor, you need to locate it, disconnect the electrical connector, and then unscrew the sensor using a wrench or oxygen sensor socket. Apply anti-seize compound to the threads if reusing the old sensor.

V6 models have four heated oxygen sensors: one upstream and one downstream for each cylinder head.

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. 2. Loosen the right front wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle, and remove the right front wheel. 3. Remove the right lower engine splash shield. 4. Disconnect the downstream oxygen sensor electrical connector. 5. Unscrew and remove the downstream oxygen sensor. 6. Apply anti-seize compound if reinstalling the old sensor. 7. Install the sensor and tighten it to the specified torque. 8. Reconnect the battery and allow the PCM to relearn its idle and fuel trim strategy.
