Position the front wheels straight ahead and securely raise the vehicle on jackstands. Disconnect the Sway Bar Kit from the lower control arms by removing the nuts from the links that attach the bar to the arms, discarding the fasteners on later models as new ones will be used during installation. Detach the Sway Bar Kit from the frame by removing the four bracket bolts, also discarding fasteners on later models for new ones during installation. Remove the Sway Bar Kit assembly and inspect all rubber bushings for any cracks, tears, or damage, replacing any that are worn or deteriorated. Installation follows the reverse order of removal, ensuring that all bolts and nuts are tightened to the specified torque. Note that the sway bar-to-frame bracket bolts are self-tapping; if they cannot be tightened to the correct torque, obtain a kit with special fasteners from the dealer, and on later models, use new Sway Bar Kit link nuts and bracket bolts.

To remove the Sway Bar Kit, position the front wheels straight ahead, raise the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands. If the vehicle has Automatic Ride Control (ARC), ensure the air suspension switch is turned off before raising the vehicle to avoid damaging the system components. Detach the Sway Bar Kit from the axle arms for 1994 and earlier models or from the link attached to the lower control arm for 1995 and later models, then remove it from the frame. For installation, follow the reverse of the removal process and tighten the bolts and nuts to the specified torque. For models from 1997 to 2001, if the Sway Bar Kit-to-frame bracket bolts are self-tapping and no longer hold, consult a dealer for a kit with special fasteners to repair the stripped holes.

Remove the mounting brackets, retainer, and the stabilizer bar from the vehicle.

Position the front wheels in the straight-ahead position. Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands.

Move the stabilizer bar ends up into position and connect them to the links. Install the bolt, washer, and nut on each end, then tighten the bolts and nuts to the specified torque.

Remove the nut and washer securing the rear stabilizer bar ends to the link at each end. Unbolt the retainers from the rear axle housing and then remove the stabilizer bar.
