    Q:
How to remove and install the front stabilizer bar on a Mercury Grand Marquis? Posted by Customer
    A:
To ensure that the vehicle does not drop, lift it up and put it on stands, securely. Disconnect the nut from each end of the sway bar kit and take it off from the links. In 1988-1991 models, the lower control arms act as a bridge between the links and the sway bar kits. On 1992 and after this, they are attached to the steering knuckles. Detach the nut from each end to disconnect the sway bar kit from the links. In 2006, remove shock absorber/coil spring assembly. Unfasten nuts clamping down on sway bar kit clamps. Detach nuts holding bushing clamps attaching bar to the frame if you want to detach the frame from the sway bar kit. Remove bar that stabilizes the car during motion. The process of fitting back is the reverse of removal. Fasten all screws firmly as required by the manufacturer's specifications.

    Q:
How to remove and install the rear stabilizer bar on a Ford Crown Victoria? Posted by Customer
    A:
Raise the rear of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands, placing the jackstands under the frame, not under the axle housing. The axle housing must be free to hang down so that the shock absorbers are fully extended. On 1988 through 1991 models, remove the four Sway Bar Kit-to-lower suspension arm bolts and remove the bar. On 1992 and later models, remove the nuts that attach the Sway Bar Kit ends to their links, then remove the other link nut. Also on 1992 and later models, remove the bushing clamp bolts that attach the Sway Bar Kit to the axle housing, then remove the other clamp bolt. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure. On 1988 through 1991 models, be sure to install the bar with the paint mark on the right hand side of the vehicle. On all models, be sure to tighten all fasteners to the torque values. Before attempting to drive a vehicle equipped with air suspension, turn the air suspension switch to On, start the engine and allow the compressor to inflate the air suspension springs, which deflate automatically when the rear of the vehicle is raised.
