    Q:
How to remove and install the Clutch Slave Cylinder on Ford Escape? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disconnect the hydraulic line at the clutch slave cylinder using a flare-nut wrench. Have a small can and rags handy, as some fluid will be spilled as the line is removed. Plug the line to prevent excessive fluid loss and contamination. Remove the clutch slave cylinder mounting bolts. Remove the clutch slave cylinder. Connect the hydraulic line fitting to the clutch slave cylinder, using your fingers only at this time. Tighten the mounting bolts to the torque listed in the Specifications. Tighten the hydraulic fitting securely, using a flare-nut wrench. Check the fluid level in the brake fluid reservoir, adding the recommended fluid until the level is correct. Bleed the system, then recheck the brake fluid level. Remove the transaxle from the vehicle. Detach the fluid line from the clutch slave cylinder. Remove the mounting bolts and the clutch slave cylinder. Installation is the reverse of removal. Fill the reservoir with the recommended brake fluid, then bleed the system.
