How do you remove and install the antenna and antenna cable on Ford Excursion? Posted by Customer
    A:
Turns out that if you wanna take out the antenna, you must first take off the vent panel cover of the right side cowl together with the antenna mast and the rubber grommet. Next remove the antenna base mounting screws, raise the antenna and unscrew the antenna cable from the base. Insofar as the antenna cable is concerned, it holds the specificity to be located at the instrument panel reinforcement and defroster air duct; the general principle when installing a new cable shall be to ensure the cable stays within the area of the dash. Remove the right front wheel, then turn the lug nuts on the right front wheel a few turns counter clockwise, lift the vehicle and support it on jackstands. Located on the right side of the vehicle, it requires right front wheel puller, the right front inner fenderwell and the right front cowl side trim panel to be taken off. In inner fender well opening, separate the antenna cable from the antenna base, unbolt the cable retaining clip fixing the cable to inner fender and, by applying hands pressure, shift the cable with grommet into the passengers compartment. Last, unsolder the antenna lead coming from the rear side of the radio and installation is reverse of removal.
