    Q:
How to check and replace the Wiper Motor on Mercury Mariner? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin by verifying voltage in the wiper motor circuit check by grounding a 12-volt test light to each terminal of a connector until it illuminates, thus indicating voltage. Should the wipers operate sluggishly, examine the battery's condition, take out the wiper motor to look for links that may be sticking and free them if necessary or else repair and grease them before reinstalling back into place; but should they still move slowly then probe all connections for looseness and corrosion also substitute this component where required; meanwhile try another fuse on those not working right away before fixing ground connection as well as checking if there is any power reaching motor terminal (if not then replace). To correct an intermittent function between switch & control module one will have to identify continuity through wiring during intervals; when failing park condition occurs follow these steps: with ignition off but switch turned on measure voltage present at park feed wire located near center lower area where cowl grille meets hood line then proceed accordingly. Disconnect battery cable prior to rear window wiper motor replacement procedure which involves removing armature protective covering plastic shroud electrical plug securing nuts bolts followed by installation of new unit while ensuring PCM relearn has been done after battery reconnection.
