Q: How do I remove and install a front and rear bumper cover on Ford Escape?
A: Apply parking brake, raise vehicle and support securely on jackstands. Remove pin retainers from inner Fender splash shield. Remove front bumper cover mounting bolts. Pull splash shield away from front bumper area. Remove bumper cover push-pin type retainers. Disconnect fog lamp connectors, if equipped. Remove bumper cover lower bolts. Remove pin-type retainers from front of bumper cover. Remove two upper bumper cover mounting bolts, then remove cover. Remove front bumper mounting nuts. Remove front bumper. Installation is reverse of removal. Remove pin retainers from inner fender splash shield. Pull splash shield away from rear bumper cover. Remove rear bumper cover mounting screws from quarter panel. Remove pin-type retainers from below. Remove rear bumper cover mounting bolts, then remove cover. Remove rear bumper mounting nuts. Remove rear bumper. Installation is reverse of removal. Remove front wheels or alternate turning them for access to splash shield fasteners. Remove three pushpins and two bolts securing front bumper cover to inner fender splash shields. Remove air dam fasteners, then remove two pushpins from center of bumper. Disconnect wiring from parking sensor and fog lights. Remove fasteners at each top corner of grille. Unclip each end of bumper from fender. Carefully remove bumper cover. Installation is reverse of removal. Snap bumper cover back into place. Remove rear wheels for access to rear wheel well splash shield fasteners, if necessary. Remove four screws from center section of bumper cover. Remove rear wheel well splash shields. Remove bumper cover screw from each side. Remove liftgate alignment bumpers. Disconnect any interfering wiring. Carefully lift bumper cover off. Installation is reverse of removal.
