As for the vehicles manufactured up to 1994, the starting point is the acquisition of a new filter element. Unbolt the
PCV Hose from the air outlet tube, and remove the air outlet tube from the air cleaner cover. Remove the electrical connector of the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor and identify the vacuum lines at the back of the cover with labels. To remove the hose from the air outlet tube turn the rotary clamp knob anticlockwise then pull the air outlet tube from the hose.Cover:-Undo the retaining screws and take the cover out of the retaining tab slots. Remove the lid and wash the filter element from it, and then remove the dust from the inner surface of the air cleaner housing with a soft cloth. If required, one can press the hot air hose to disembark it from the housing and can remove the mounting screw and then raise the housing assembly up. Install the new air filter element in its housing, making sure that the marked side is oriented upwards, then, put on the cover and the retaining screws, tightening them moderately, reconnect the vacuum hoses, air outlet tube and electrical connector. For 1995 and later models, if there is a screw-type or locking clamp, release it and pull the air filter out, then the air filter housing must be wiped with a damp cloth while the new filter element is installed. The order in assembly is in the reverse order to that in dismantling.
