How to replace a fuel filter on Ford Focus?

The fuel filter is under the vehicle in front of the fuel tank. Check hose fittings for cleanliness. Clean if necessary. Relieve fuel pressure and disconnect battery cable. There are two types of quick-connect fittings: "squeeze" and "push clip". Disengage by pressing or pulling locking tangs. Pull fuel hoses off filter. Be prepared for fuel spillage. Loosen clamp with screwdriver. Note filter direction. Remove and install new filter in same direction. Push hoses onto filter until seated and locked. Reconnect battery cable and check for fuel leaks.
