What is the general description of the Evaporative Emissions Control system and Purge Valve on Ford Mustang?

The cigarette lighter sized canister actually collects fuel vapors and then injects the vapors into the intake manifold during operation of the engine and combines it with the incoming air/fuel mixture. It has several parts including the dust separator, EVAP canister, the canister vent solenoid, and the canister purge valve, of which the first three parts lie under the car and the last is located in the bonnet. Other parts is the FTP sensor, FLVV assembly, the fuel filler pipe check valve, the fuel filler neck cap and the EVAP system monitor which forms part of the program of the PCM. The fuel filler neck cap blocks overfilling and the escape of fuel vapors and the FLW assembly manages the flow of fuel vapors and minimizes the sum of liquid fuel that might get into the EVAP line during a rollover. The FTP sensor opens the purge valve when the pressure of the tank increases abnormally and is used to measure vacuum conditions during a test. The EVAP system monitor performs a ''running loss system leak test'' to check for leaks, starting with the obvious ones and then monitoring the rate at which the small leaks decay. For component replacement the EVAP canister purge valve involve the removal of the electrical connector and quick connect coupling The removal procedures may differ depending on the model year. EVAP canister assembly is inside the car beneath it; it comprises a number of parts with the removal technique involving the negative terminal of the battery, raising of the car, and the removal of bolts and nuts. The dust separator and the canister vent solenoid can be removed by disconnecting the hoses and relieving from their respective brackets and the ways of installation are alike as to the removal for all the parts.
