With the lips of the new seal facing inwards and the metal face visible from the end of the axle housing, tap the new seal into position you may use a seal driver or a large socket. If it is correctly fitted, one face of the oil seal must be in contact with the end of the axle housing and the lips of the oil seal must be wiped in gear oil. Finally, install the axleshaft.
