Q: How to remove and install the distributor ignition module and EDIS ignition module in certain engines on Ford Ranger?
A: To replace the distributor ignition control module on a 1993 or 1994 3.0L V6 engine, disconnect the negative battery cable. Unscrew the module from the radiator support and unplug its electrical connector. Unscrew the module from the heatsink before trying to remove it. While replacing it, smear Silicone Dielectric Compound WA-10 on top of the baseplate. To change out the EDIS ignition control module on a 1993 or 1994 2.3L four-cylinder or 4.0L V6 engine, disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove any screws holding it onto the fender well and detach the electric connector's plug fastening them thereon. Installation is the reverse of removal.
