How to remove and install a fuel tank on Ford Taurus?

The procedure is much easier to perform if the fuel tank is empty. Begin by removing the fuel tank filler cap to relieve pressure. Next, relieve the fuel system pressure. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Raise the rear of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. For AWD models, remove the driveshaft.
