Lincoln Town Car Steering Wheel Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How do you remove the steering wheel on Lincoln Town Car?
A: Disconnect the battery cable and align the front wheels. For models without a driver's side airbag, remove screws, the horn pad, and unplug the horn and cruise control. For later models, just remove the horn pad and disconnect the leads. For models with an airbag, remove the airbag module and unplug the connector. Remove the steering wheel bolt, check alignment marks, and use a steering wheel puller to detach the wheel. Check the slip ring contacts. To install, align the marks, attach the wheel, and tighten the bolt. Plug in the cruise control connector if needed. For airbag models, connect the airbag connector and install the module. For others, attach the horn pad. Finally, reconnect the battery cables.
