How to remove and install an axleshaft oil seal on Mercury Grand Marquis?

Take out the axle shaft. Remove the old oil seal by using a removal tool or the axle shaft itself. The old seal is removed from the housing with a seal removal tool or a prybar. Use your socket to hammer in place the new seal. Make sure it fits smoothly with the housing. Afterward, lubricate again and reinstall it in much the same manner as before.
