It was recommended that before removing the wiper, the negative cable should be disconnected from the battery. Having ensured the wiper is parked in the normal at rest position determine the positions of the blade or blades on the screen by drawing line(s) with a wax crayon or pieces of masking tape. Pop open the hood for front wipers, remove the little plastic lid at the bottom of the wiper arm and unscrew the nut by a turn or two. Raise the wiper arm and step down back from the taper on the spindle by pulling it sideways, by this unlock the wiper arm. Take out the nut and pull the wiper arm off the spindle as a whole. For installation, reverse the removal procedure be certain to set the arm of the bushing in the noted position and then tighten the nut to the indicated torque.
