To remove the washer reservoir and pump for 2007 and earlier models, open the hood and take out the securing bolt for the washer bottle filler neck, then pull the filler neck up to disengage it from the reservoir. Apply the parking brake, loosen the left-hand front wheel nuts, jack up the front of the car, and support it on axle stands before removing the front wheel. Remove the retaining screws and release the fender well liner for access to the reservoir; on 2005 models, also remove the drive bell splash shield and set aside the air-conditioning accumulator to access the bolts securing the washer bottle. Unscrew the mounting bolts and slide the reservoir forward to release it from the inner fender panel, then disconnect the washer hoses and wiring connector from the washer pump while anticipating some fluid loss. Pull the windshield washer pump and, if applicable, the headlight washer pump from the reservoir, and check the rubber seal/filler for damage. For 2008 and later models, remove the upper washer reservoir mounting screw, move the engine coolant reservoir out of the way, raise the vehicle securely on jackstands, and remove the lower air deflector. Disconnect the wiring from the washer pump, detach the hose, drain the reservoir into a container, and then remove the mounting nut and screws to take out the washer reservoir and pump assembly. For the windshield washer jet, with the hood open, disconnect the washer tube from the bottom of the jet and, if necessary, disconnect the wiring for the jet heater before carefully prying the jet out from the hood. For Hatchback and Wagon models, remove the high-level brake-light unit by undoing the securing screws, pull the washer tube from the jet, and check with a dealer about the availability of the washer jet separately from the rear light lens. For the headlight washer jet, remove the front bumper, disconnect the washer tube from the base of the jet, and withdraw the jet from the bumper after removing the retaining clip or screw. Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring that the window washer jets are pressed in firmly, the front bumper is reinstalled after the headlight washer jet, and the grommet is lubricated with a water-based lubricant when reinstalling the washer reservoir.
